Workshop Move To Zero

Overview
Hall Haus is an organisation of four designers founded in early 2020, they organised workshops as part of their work methodology on the transmission part. To do so, they collaborated with Nike at the Nike House of Innovation as part of Nike’s campaign to reduce waste. Their workshop consisted of introducing young people to the world of design by inviting them to create their own personalised lamp out of cardboard Nike shoe boxes.
Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an intuitive user experience that would enhance the overall workshop experience and encourage engagement with young people.

Process
Breaking down the project
This second edition of the workshop involved several key stages into the design process. The first on, inspiration, came from Konstantin Grcic’s MayDay hand lamp. This lamp, according to its creator, is part of a « current, feasible and concrete » design, and it is exactly in this direction that this workshop must act for youth. We decided to pursue thispath in a design that evolves according to the environment to which it must respond by integrating it into these workshops.
Building on strong foundations
Based on this design research, I transposed the model into cardboard prototype to identify the potential friction points. From there, I created a high-fidelity prototype and conducted usability testing to refine the design and improve the user experience. The final design also included the development of instructions in order to obtain an easy-to-use activity system.
Collaborating with the internal team
Throughout the process, I worked closely with the Hall Haus team to ensure this experience met their requirements and matched their "transmission" identity.

Outcome
The end result of this workshop was a user-friendly and attractive product, the Nike V2 lamp, which exceeded our expectations and those of the participants we received at the Nike House of Innovation in Paris
Users were able to easily assemble the lamp, have fun personalizing it according to their taste, and introduce themselves to the world of design thanks to the workshop. All in a creative and friendly intuitive experience.
